A VIN number is important for determining the model. The moment there is a VIN number in your DMS whose model cannot be determined then it will be in this list. An incorrect VIN number will also be shown. Adjust it in your DMS and it will be resolved the next day.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reasons for including a VIN in this list:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Invalid VIN<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The VIN in the DMS export does not comply with the structure as it should be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Possible cause<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In most situations, the number of characters in the DMS differs. The VIN should contain 17 characters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What can you do?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assess and adjust the length of the VIN in the DMS.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cannot determine car model<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This message is displayed if the VIN meets the requirements, if the make from the DMS is OK but if the model cannot be determined in the dataset. A model is recognised by a number of characters in the VIN and with the given value it does not match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Possible causes:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. There was a typing error when entering the VIN in the DMS<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. The model or model generation has not yet been activated by MFX<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. The car has been imported from outside Europe and is not recognised for this reason<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    What can you do?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If the VIN is entered correctly then you can send a message to data@marketingfx.nl. The VIN will then be checked through various sources and if possible added to the model list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This brand is not activated<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The VIN is associated with a brand for which no profile has been created under your company account. No action is required unless you want to add the brand to your company profile. Please contact MFX for this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Invalid brand<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The make we find with the VIN in the DMS export does not belong to the VIN based on the first three characters. For this reason, the car will not be imported into the Contact module. Please review the VIN in your DMS and assess whether the make is correct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Apply filter to the list<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    To apply a filter, click in the grey-coloured bar and select a cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
